After much thought and reflection, Craig and I have made the tough decision to close Salefreaks. This is not a decision we’ve taken lightly, as Salefreaks has been at the heart of our e-commerce journey and something we’ve poured so much of ourselves into.
For those who may not know, our connection to Salefreaks began 4 years before we owned it. We were passionate users of the software, relying on it for our success in dropshipping. When we learned the platform was about to shut down, we couldn’t stand the thought of letting it go. We took a leap of faith with 2 other investors and software owners, investing to save it, and determined to make it better for everyone, not just ourselves.
The Journey
Our mission was always clear: improve the software, serve our customers, and ensure no one would be left stranded by the sudden closure the previous owners had planned. For dropshippers by dropshippers! We delivered many of those promises and of course, made mistakes along the way. We made the software into the best possible version of itself.
This was only possible thanks to the incredible efforts of our staff and developers. They hit the ground running, often learning on the job to navigate one of the most challenging and fast-changing business models in e-commerce. Our developers worked tirelessly, learning 12 years’ worth of complex coding and turning our ideas into reality. To our entire team, we owe an enormous debt of gratitude—you’ve done an extraordinary job.
However, the journey hasn’t been without its challenges. As much as we enhanced the platform, the road has often felt like “one step forward and two steps back.” The financial and mental toll has been immense. Since taking over Salefreaks, Craig and I have re-invested heavily, often at the expense of our other businesses and personal lives to keep the lights on.
Why We’re Closing Salefreaks
Ultimately, this decision comes down to three key reasons:
Financial Sustainability: The ongoing financial strain of maintaining Salefreaks has become unsustainable.
The Right Partner: We believe it’s time to move to a company better equipped to innovate and evolve in this space. Our customers deserve access to the best tools, resources, and expertise.
Refocusing on What We Do Best: Over the last year, the demands of running Salefreaks have caused our businesses to suffer. We need to refocus on what we’re best at—being more actively involved in e-commerce and helping others succeed.
Looking Ahead with Excitement
While we’re closing this chapter, we’re incredibly excited about the future. As many of you know, Craig and I run a successful Amazon FBA business and a UK-based third-party fulfillment center (The EcommShack), which is creating amazing opportunities for our communities. And let us be clear: eBay dropshipping is not dead. We’re scaling and expanding our dropshipping operations to sell worldwide, and we’re thrilled to share new methods, strategies, and insights with all of you.
Our focus moving forward is on helping you navigate this ever-changing industry and thrive in e-commerce, whether it’s through eBay dropshipping, Amazon FBA, or other business models, side-hustles and education.
